Our Story

About the Venue

The Village Lamplighter is a live performance venue nestled in the heart of Salado, Texas — a town celebrated for its artistic spirit and warmth.

Housed within Solas Gallery, the venue offers an intimate setting where audience and performer share the same room, the same energy, the same moment. No distant stages. No velvet ropes. Just the electric connection of live performance.

Our programming spans the full breadth of the performing arts: live music from singer-songwriters and ensembles, stand-up comedy and improv, storytelling evenings, spoken word and poetry, variety shows, and creative collaborations that defy easy categorization.

The Village Lamplighter is the vision of Tim Flanagan, owner of Solas Gallery and a fixture in Salado's creative community for three decades. What began as occasional gallery concerts has grown into a dedicated performance series — a gathering place where art is experienced, not just observed.

Whether you're a lifelong Salado resident or discovering the town for the first time, we invite you to pull up a chair and experience something remarkable.

What We Believe

Intimacy Over Scale

The best performances happen when you can see the artist breathe. Our venue keeps it close.

Breadth of Expression

Music is just the beginning. Comedy, spoken word, storytelling — every form of live performance has a home here.

Community First

Salado is a town that gathers. The Lamplighter is simply a new reason to come together.

Art, Not Spectacle

No fog machines. No pyrotechnics. Just the timeless power of a performer and an audience.
